Além dessa, a caribenha voltou ao palco para mais três performances ao longo da noite, que incluíram “Work”, “Needed Me” e “Love On The Brain”, tudo do seu novo álbum ANTI. Em seguida, o rapper Drake subiu para entregar o prêmio de “Michael Jackson de Vanguarda” à ela, contando emocionado de quando se conheceram há 11 anos e de quando se apaixonaram.
Sem dúvida, esse VMA foi dominado por Beyoncé. A rainha praticamente recriou seu álbum visual “Lemonade” ao vivo em uma performance de mais de 15 minutos! Passando por todo o Madison Square Garden, Queen B mostrou todo seu poder vocal em “Pray You Catch Me”, “Hold Up”, “Don’t Hurt Yourself”, “Sorry” e a polêmica “Formation”.
Kanye West ganhou da MTV um espaço na cerimônia para fazer o que quisesse, logo o rapper decidiu trazer algumas indiretas à tona, lançando também um novo vídeo. Kanye aproveitou para relembrar todo mundo do episódio com Taylor Swift, deixando claro que sua preferência sempre será Beyoncé.
