Game of Thrones pode ter acabado, mas está fechando com chave de ouro. A série da HBO acumulou 32 indicações à 71ª edição do Emmy Awards, premiação de maior relevância da televisão americana. Sua cerimônia acontecerá no dia 22 de setembro.
Com tantas indicações da Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas (Emmy) por sua temporada final, Game Of Thrones tornou-se a série mais indicada da história da premiação. Até então, o recorde pertencia à série NYPD Blue, que havia conquistado 26 nomeações em 1994.
Temos Kit Harington (Jon Snow) e Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targeryan) indicados às categorias de Melhor Ator e Melhor Atriz, respectivamente, em série de drama. Também Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Lena Headey (Cersei), Sophie Turner (Sansa) e Maisie Williams (Arya) na categoria de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante.
Para Melhor Ator Coadjuvante, foram indicados também Alfie Allen (Theon), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) e Peter Dinklage (Jaime). Além disso, a série foi indicada à Melhor Série, uma categoria que já ganhou quatro vezes, Melhor Roteiro e Direção.
Ao longo de suas sete primeiras temporadas, Game of Thrones ganhou 47 Emmy Awards. Ao todo, a série produzida por David Benioff e D.B. Weiss tem 161 indicações, contando as da oitava e última temporada.
A premiação divide as categorias em gênero, portanto entre as comédias, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel foi destaque com 20 indicações. Chernobyl também se destacou entre as minisséries, com 19 categorias. E, entre os documentários, Homecoming, de Beyoncé, recebeu 6 indicações ao Emmy Awards 2019! Foram elas, Melhor Especial de Variedades, Melhor Direção Musical, Melhor Direção, Melhor Roteiro, Melhor Design e Melhor Figurino em Variedades.
